Black Box Imager

The SMS Black Box is the next major breakthrough in scratch and mar visualization and analysis. This instrument isolates the sample in a low-albedo environment optimized for specular image capture. This allows users of our industry-leading software to optimize image capture for either color or geometric analysis of scratches and mars. Additionally, previously intractable mar tests are now easily analyzed and quantified for competitive or fundamental analysis.

The Black Box is designed to work with our Tribometrics software to provide ease of training and operation by technicians.

The Block Box features a limited number of controls allowing an enormous range of parametric control over analysis.

The digital camera included with the instrument is used inline with the SMS SVA software in a manner identical to existing image capture systems. This means your staff can continue to use existing protocols with only minimal modification, and significant improvement in fidelity and quality of data for analysis.
